Samsung Galaxy A15 Honest Review: Stunning Display, Long Battery, and Real Use Test

Samsung Galaxy A15

Samsung has a strong place for its budget and mid-range smartphones in the Pakistani market, and Samsung Galaxy A15 is a wonderful phone in this series. The price of the phone is Rs 52,999, featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, making it an attractive choice for students, professionals, and general users. I’ve been using this phone for the past few weeks and have shared my experiences with its design, display, performance, camera, battery, and software. This review is fully based on my personal use, and I will present it in a simple, user-friendly manner so that you can decide whether this phone is suitable for your needs.

Design: Light Charming and Comfortable

When I first took the Galaxy A15, I liked it immediately (about 200 grams) and 7.9 mm thickness. This phone is comfortable to hold in hand and easy to keep in pockets or bags. I chose the Fantasy Blue color, which looks light blue in the light and looks very beautiful. The phone is available in four charming colors:

The previous panel of the phone is made of polycarbonate, which gives a premium feeling like glasses. Although it occasionally draws fingerprints, it is easy to clean with a light cloth. The plastic frame on the edges of the phone gives strength, but it looks a little delicate. I used it without a case, but the use of a case and screen protector for safety would be better, as the phone does not have water and dust resistance. The fingerprint sensor is very fast and accurate; I set it up, and the phone gets unlocked every time in less than a second. The presence of USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jacks I liked very much because I use wired earphones. Since the phone is not water resistant, I kept it out of water or rain so that there was no harm.

Display: The Magic of AMOLED

The Samsung Galaxy A15‘s 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display is its most important feature. The screen is very smooth and colorful thanks to the Full HD resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) and 90 Hz refresh rate. I watch videos on YouTube, such as clips of Pakistani dramas, food recipes, and travel vs, and the colors were dynamic and clear. Due to the AMOLED display, the black colors are very deep, which makes the video-watching experience excellent.

The brightness of 800 nits also facilitated me to use the phone in the sun. I sat outside and chatted on WhatsApp, and the screen remained clear. The display is a water drop-notch, which is used for the front camera. It looks old, but everyday use does not matter. I played games like Candy Crush and Subway Surfers, and the animations were very smooth due to the 90 Hz refresh rate. The protection of Gorilla Glass 3 gave some protection from scratches, but I used it carefully.

Performance: Excellent for Everyday

The Samsung Galaxy A15 MediaTek Helio comes with the G99 processor. It was great for everyday tasks. I ran apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Chrome simultaneously, and the phone did without any hassle. Thanks to the 6GB RAM, multitasking was smooth, and apps opened faster.

Fortunately, the phone supports the Micro microSDXC card, which can increase storage to 1TB. I added a 256GB microSDXC card, which found enough space for photos, videos, and apps. For gaming, I play Ludo Star and Temple Run 2, which walk without any lag. The PUBG Mobile was tested on the middle graphics settings, and it was able to play, though the phone was hot for long sessions. Mali-G57 MC2 GPU handled the graphics well.

Camera: Make Every Moment Beautiful

The Samsung Galaxy A15′s triple camera setup was very impressive to me. It includes

I took photos from the main camera in the daylight, such as home gardens, family events, and photos of food. The photos were clear, colorful, and full of details. HDR mode well-balanced the bright and shadowing parts, making pictures beautiful.

From the Ultra Wide Camera, I took group photos and landscape shots, which were excellent for capturing wide scenes. It was interesting to take close shots from a macro camera, such as flowers or pests. The 13-megapixel front camera gives outstanding selfies in the daylight. I took pictures with the family, and the beauty mode naturally smoothed the skin. Portrait mode blurred the background and gave the Selfies a polished look. For video recording, I made clips at 1080p, which was great for social media.

Battery: With the Whole Day

The Samsung Galaxy A15‘s 5000 mAh battery impressed me a lot. I used to charge the phone in the morning, and despite the WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and calls, the battery was more than 50% remaining by the evening. The battery runs all day.

The phone supports 25-watt fast charging, and I purchased 25-watt chargers separately. The battery was charged in about 80 minutes from 0 to 100%. Once I started the day with a 15% battery in the morning, and by afternoon, the phone was fully charged again. Unfortunately, the box did not include a charger, which was disappointing.

Software: Smooth and User Friendly

The phone came with Android 14 based OneUI 6, which is very user-friendly. The interface is colorful, simple, and easy to navigate. I used the Dark Mode, which gives the eyes a rest at night. Samsung has promised two major OS updates and four years of security updates, which assures me that the phone will remain updated for many years. Samsung Knox Security Feature gives confidence about the safety of my data.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy A15 supports 4G networks, and its performance in my urban area has been excellent. The calls were clear, and Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 worked without disconnection. The Dual Sim feature facilitated me to use two numbers. NFC is available in some areas, but I didn’t use it.

This price is suitable for its features, such as an AMOLED display, excellent battery, and long software support.

User Reviews

I used the Samsung Galaxy A15 in my daily routine, such as chatting with friends on WhatsApp, scrolling on Facebook, videos on YouTube, and occasionally gaming. The 6GB RAM kept multitasking smooth, and the MicroSDXC card eliminated the storage worry. The battery performance was excellent because I often forget the charger.
