Introduction: Smartphones are Part of My Life
Ever since smartphones have come into our lives, everything has changed. From getting up in the morning to sleeping at night, this little device has become our partner. Sometimes gossip on WhatsApp, sometimes videos on YouTube, and sometimes office emails– it’s all possible by phone. I recently bought an Oppo Reno 12F (4G version), and today I’m going to share my personal experience with this phone with you. This article is written from the eyes of a normal user, which will describe the phone’s design, camera, battery, performance, and other features in simple terms. If you are thinking of buying a new phone, this article will help you decide.
Design: Love at First Sight
When I first took the Oppo Reno 12F, I was really happy to see its design. This phone is lightweight, with only 187 grams weight, and very comfortable to hold in hand. Its back panel is made with a shiny finish, which shows the shadows of different colors when the light falls. I chose an amber-orange color, and it’s really unique. When the sunlight falls on it, it shines and everyone asks what this phone is!
The edges of the phone are made of aluminum frames, which firmly give it a premium. The front has a 6.67-inch large screen, with a small hole punch camera. Its 93.3% screen-to-body ratio makes it very beautiful, and the whole screen enjoys watching videos. The phone buttons are also kept very well, and they get a satisfying click on suppressing them. However, fingerprints on the back panel get quickly, so I made a case, which solves the problem.
Display: The Magic of Colors
Oppo Reno 12F‘s AMOLED display is really amazing. The resolution of this 6.67-inch screen is 1080 x 2400 pixels, and the colors are so deep and clear that the taste of watching the videos is dimmed. I see some series on Netflix, and thanks to HDR10 support, the colors and contrasts are excellent. Its 120hz refresh rate makes the screen very smooth, whether you are scrolling or playing a game.
Once in the afternoon, the screen also appeared in the sun as the screen could be clear as it could go up to 1200 nits. Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2 is not afraid of scratches on the screen due to protection. These display fingerprint sensors are very fast, and the phone is immediately locked. However, if you use the phone with the case, occasionally the fingerprint sensor has to touch it again, but this is not a big problem.
Camera: Every Moment Beautiful
If you are keep on photography, the Oppo Reno 12F camera will not disappoint you. Its triple-camera setup includes:
- 50 MP Primary Sensor (with F/1.8 Appearance, with Auto Fox)
- 8 MP Ultra-Wide Lens (112 ° Field of View)
- 2 MP macro Lens
I took pictures from this phone at a function of my family, and the primary camera took excellent pictures in the daylight. The colors were very natural, and the details were clear. The ultra-wide lens did a lot of work for group photos, as it made the whole scene to the frame. With a macro lens, I took close pictures of flowers in the garden, and the results were impressive, though it required a little patience.
At night, night mode surprised me. One night I took pictures of the city lights, and the pictures were very bright and clear, as were taken from a professional camera. The 32-megapixel front camera is best and great for selfies. I took some selfies with my sister, and AI beauty features made the pictures more beautiful. The camera app has modes such as portrait, pro, panorama and time lips, which make photography more interesting. There is also a 4K recording for the video, which is good for Vlogging enthusiasts.
Performance: Everyday Tasks Partner
Oppo Reno 12F has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, made on 6nm technology. Its Octa-Core CPU sufficient for the CPU (4 x 2.8 GHz Cortex-A73 4 x 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53) and Adreno 610 GPU is enough for everyday tasks. I use it for WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and emails, and it runs without delay.
As a gaming enthusiast, I played PUBG and Call of Duty. After turning on the h
Hyper Boost mode, the games have gone very well on medium settings, but if you want to play on high graphics, it can sometimes be a slight slowdown. The phone has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which is best for multi-tasking. I opened several apps together, and the phone handled everything without any hassle. The storage from the microSD card can be extended to 1TB, which is enough for my photos and videos.
Software: The Magic of Colors 14
The phone operates on the Android 14-based Colors 14, which is very user-friendly. Thanks to the smart sidebar, I can get access to my favorite apps immediately. I liked the Air-gesture, which I could pick up without touching a screen or changing the song. From the privacy dashboard, I check the app’s permission, which is good for data security.
Colors 14 also has some AI features, such as a text scanner, from which I can copy the text from the photos. Once I scanned the prices from a shop menu, and it was very easy. Smart power-saving modes help save the battery, and the phone performance is not affected.
Battery: With All Day Long
The 5000mAh battery is a major benefit of this phone. I use the phone from morning to evening-gaming, videos, calls, and social media. 20-30% of the battery is saved at night. The battery operates very well due to AI-based optimization.
- 45 watts fast charging is really impressive.
- If the battery is low in the morning, charging 30 minutes while having breakfast is charged up to 70%.
- The fast charger is included in the box, which is a great convenience.
- There is also a reverse charging feature, where I can charge my Earbuds.
Market Competition and Price
Oppo Reno 12F is against the Samsung Galaxy A series, Xiaomi Redmi Note, and Vivo V series. Its AMOLED display and cameras distinguish it, but some rival phones have 5G or waterproofing, which is not in it. However, it offers a lot compared to its price (PKR 55,999).
User Opinion
I also talked to my friends about this phone. One friend said his camera is excellent for social media, while the other praised the battery. One cousin described the speakers’ voice as average, but overall everyone liked it.
Result: Is This Phone For You?
Oppo Reno 12F is a magnificent phone that is great in terms of design, camera, and battery. If you want a stylish and budget phone that is best for everyday tasks, photography, and light gaming, it is for you.
I am very happy with this phone, and it’s more than my expectations. Oppo once again proved that he could give premium features at affordable prices. If you are thinking of buying it, definitely check – it won’t disappoint you!
